Fellowship of the Open: How Community Supports Advocacy
This session brings together the five 2019-2020 eCampusOntario Open Education Fellows to discuss approaches to advocating for open at institutions across Ontario. The OE Fellows program (2019) is a one of a kind initiative that for the past two years has brought together open champions to build community and facilitate collaboration across institutions, disciplines, and post-secondary sectors. This initiative has created spaces for open advocates from diverse contexts, institutions, and roles to assemble and share their ideas, initiatives, questions, and plans for open education advocacy in Ontario.
This structured conversation will centre on how OE Fellows’ initiatives were supported and strengthened through the fellowship initiative. It will also explore frameworks for open communities and working together for greater sustainable impacts. Participants will be challenged to reflect on their communities of practice and how they can eliminate barriers to collaboration.
