Calls for Proposals
There are multiple ways that you may present your work to the OTESSA community, either in-person or online. Please see the options below and choose the venue that works best for you.
Online
Our online event will span two date ranges: May 5-6 and June 8-9. Both will include interactive sessions, networking events, unconferences, keynotes and invited speakers, including invited panel opportunities that draw from our existing presenter pool.
Victoria, BC
OTESSA in Victoria, BC convenes a scholarly and professional community at the University of Victoria to examine digital transformation of education and knowledge management. Educational institutions and programs are facing a period of great strain and need for change, while learners are demanding greater flexibility and inclusive pathways. We are specifically interested sessions that look at one or more of the following:
- system change spanning k12, post-secondary, and public outreach
- digital and AI literacy
- accessibility and inclusion
- modality (online, hybrid, multi-access)
- flexible, technology-mediated pedagogy
- technology-integrated assessment of/for/as learning
This gathering promotes inquiry and exchange among researchers, professionals, students, librarians, policymakers, and educators. Designated sessions will focus on refining prospective publications and collaborative ventures.
Following two days of conference sessions, participants will be invited to a post-conference day of nature-based and social activities. These will be important times of less formal networking, support, and relationship building in the natural environment around Victoria.
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Building from the success of our inaugural Grand Challenges Initiative in 2025, we are hosting the second OTESSA Research and Design Symposium in Santa Fe, NM, which will serve as a scholarly symposium to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and idea development in educational technology and instructional design. The event emphasizes collaboration through small group discussions, allowing authors to refine their work with diverse perspectives. Guided by the World Café model, the two-day format will encourage idea sharing and collective problem-solving in a supportive, interactive environment.
Winnipeg, Manitoba
OTESSA joins the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE), and the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) for an in-person joint conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
