OTESSA 2027 Call for Proposals
OTESSA encourages researchers and practitioners to share their scholarship on the complexities that technology and/or open practice raise for education, society, and scholarship, as well as to come together to build connections, collaborations, and critical conversations at the 2027 conference.
Scholars, practitioners, graduate and undergraduate students, librarians, designers, makers, policy advisors, and educators or administrators from post-secondary, K12, or workplace settings are all welcome!

NOTE: Subsequent review rounds are not guaranteed and will be dependent on the number of accepted proposals in the previous rounds.
Submission Info
- Submit a 300 word session proposal (research or practice) using the templates provided.
- Optional short paper for publication: You may choose to submit a 1000–2000 word short paper for publication in the indexed conference proceedings. This may be submitted alongside your session proposal or at any later date (no expiry). Proceedings must be submitted in the templates provided in the submission portal.
Note:
Authors can submit a full research, practice, or discourse paper at any time to the OTESSA Journal (separate portal at https://journal.otessa.org). Full papers must be submitted using the templates provided and are expected to be 4000–7000 words (excluding references). For full submission guidelines, visit the OTESSA Journal website.
